Welcome to the e-portfolio site of Christopher Tyler

I have been a secondary mathematics teacher at Waverly High School in Lansing, MI since 2017. I hold a B.S. in computational mathematics from Michigan State University as well as a Masters in Secondary Mathematics Education from Western Governors University.

I have pursued leadership roles at my school as the head wrestling coach, as the student advisor for the school math club and as an advisor and participant in global education.

In 2022, I was awarded the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program award. As a Fulbright recipient, I will engage in cutting-edge research and share knowledge with a network of educators in the U.S. and abroad.

Leadership Philosophy

As a leader, I value clear and direct communication. It starts with the vision of where we are going as a school and outlining how we will get there. As a servant leader, I seek to listen first and understand the diverse needs of students and staff. I am a self-reflective educator and am committed to continuous improvement. I believe in the promotion of equity in the classroom and throughout the school. My words and actions will be rooted in honesty and integrity.
